So I run into the article on PS3Fanboy giving 10 reasons why the PS3 is relevant again. Interesting reasons and some I agree with. Let's just remove the fact that it's on a site dedicated to the PS3 for a minute. It seems this year there are more things coming out for the PS3 I can think of off the top of my head that I am looking forward to than other consoles.
First off is of course Metal Gear Solid 4. Can't say enough about how excited I am to see this finally come out and finish off a great series. From the looks of it, the game's realy coming along well and it's definitely on my list of pickups on release day.
Home should... I say should.. be released this year. It's been long overdue and I would hope they finalize the release so that the entire PS3 population can enjoy this free feature.
LittleBigPlanet's just hyped to all hell and it's looking pretty polished. The nice thing is we'll be able to enjoy a lot of user created content... and I'll just leave that comment alone instead of mentioning a certain competitor and their stance.
Since Blu-Ray is now the HD standard, I guess I can start building up my library of movies to watch on the machine.
Besides the new games and features coming to the PS3, there's still a few things that the machine is capable of currently that I would like to investigate more on this year. Something that the 360 can't do is install other OS's and the idea of turning the PS3 into a media machine via one of these updates would be a fun weekend project. The machine runs damn quiet but the only issue I have is that there's no IR port for my univeral remotes to take advantage of.
There's still some fixes I want implemented like being able to communicate with those on my friend's list while in game. This year might be the right time to finally pick up the PS3 as there's much to like about the machine and games/features that are coming soon.
